Bar Review: Vertigo 42

Tower 42, Old Broad Street

Spectacular views. Amazing cocktails.
When it comes to locations for a bar Vertigo has got to be one of the best in London. Situated on the 42nd floor of Tower 42 (The fifth tallest building in London) at just under 180 meters Vertigo has a 360 degree view around the capital. The best time to book some drinks at Vertigo is just before sunset so you can experience London by day and by night plus you might be lucky enough to witness a spectacular sunset, although this is unlikely with the British weather.

Vertigo also serves an expansive collection of Champagnes
and some great cocktails such as a the Lychee Bellini or
the Vertigo made of pomegranate juice and triple sec.

Vertigo reminds me of a similar bar in my old home town Basel, Switzerland called Bar Rouge located on the 31st floor of the Messeturm although the view is not nearly as spectacular.

If you can ignore the crowd that is mostly made up of young bankers and pretentious city slickers trying to impress and you don't suffer from Vertigo it is definitely worth going, if not only for the views.
