Singapore - Day 3

Sunday 18 September

Today was the day of the big closing party of the World Wide Festival at Tanjong Beach Club on Sentosa. Tanjong Beach Club is situated in a beautiful cove at just about the most southerly tip of Singapore, facing the Singapore strait.

Sentosa stands for peace and tranquillity in Malay but was once known as "The Island of Death at the Back" or  "Dead Back Island" (Pulau Mati Blakang). This name, many claim, stems from its murderous and piracy heritage (I watched Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides on the flight over making this the only possible explanation).

Graham and Chloe had booked us a table and so we arrived just after lunch with Champagne waiting.
The beach club has an amazing infinity pool overlooking the bay with its beautiful white sand and blue sea. Needless to say we enjoyed ourselves.

How you doin'.....?

To top off a brilliant day at the southern most tip of Singapore, Gilles Peterson played until sunset with an amazing set.

And so that was the end of the World Wide Festival...here some anecdotes...

The end...
